Clyde Young Clyde was the club’s first President which makes him kind of our George Washington! Clyde passed away on Nov. 16, 2007. We lost a good friend and modelin’ buddy and although he is now gone in body, his spirit and all the work he did during the years to make this club the success it is will live on. In his honor, the Heartland Nationals Champion Award is co-named as the Clyde Young Award. |

Elden Titus. 2/18/48 - 10/8/08 His kindness, support, and friendship toward our modeling club will never be forgotten. Elden was a top name in “Kustom Car” design but always held onto his roots as a model-building kid growing up in Wichita, Kansas. He started the Model Kemp Spectacular as an integral part of the Kustom Kemps of America’s Leadsled Spectacular held annually in Salina, Kansas. Elden was instrumental in fostering the association of the Slammers Club with the world of famous customs and rods. |

Bob Paeth. 2/22/35 - 10/16/08 Bob was a veteran in the world of model car building, worked for Revell and was instrumental in bringing many of the classic kits of the 60’s and 70’s to life for us all to enjoy. But it was his association with the KC Slammers that endeared him to us (he was our special guest at the 2008 Heartland). Bob was a teller of great stories about cars, people, and models and had a special hot-knife modeling technique we all envied! |

Monica Jean Cozine 9/9/50 - 11/13/08 Monica was a great Slammer wife who supported her husband, Dan, in his love for cars, scale-modeling, and the KC Slammers. She was a gifted artist as well. She did fantastic scale dioramas and was an excellent modeler in her own right. |

Arlene Slaughter October 8, 2009 Arlene was the wife of KC Slammer Eric Slaughter. We Slammers will always remember Arlene as the creator of that terrific quilt she made using actual Heartland Model Car Contest T-Shirts. She attended some of our meetings occasionally and although we always razzed her mercilessly, she took it like a true sport. |

Russ Johnson - passed on July 27, 2010 Longtime KC Slammer, Russ Johnson, was undoubtedly one of the greatest and most enthusiastic supporters and promoters of our club. Through the years, Russ held many offices in the group and even had the KC Slammers name proudly painted on his truck and had a club plaque hung on chains off of his back bumper. Russ always had a story to tell and a smile for friends. We all miss Russ at all the Slammer events and in our lives. |

Carrol Ann Kendrick - passed on January 20, 2012 Carrol was the wife of KC Slammer Ellis Kendrick. She supported him in his love of the hobby and worked countless hours with Ellis on the KC Slammer Website. She loved her crafts and hobbies and made many of them automobile themed. |
